This year’s outcomes stand as a testament to the relentless dedication of our students and the exceptional commitment of our staff. Together, their passion, perseverance, and hard work have produced another year of remarkable academic achievement.
Academic / IB Results
Leigh Academy Wilmington has continued to raise the bar in both IB progress and attainment. Our Average Point Score (APS) for 2025 reached 33 (H4+), a significant rise from last year’s 28.85 (H4) – a clear sign of our upward trajectory. Our Value Added score of +0.24 shows that students are performing above expectations, supported by high-quality teaching and comprehensive pastoral care.
The overall average IB grade of 4.86 is expected to exceed the 2024 IB Global average (4.67), reinforcing the strength of our teaching and learning.
Subject highlights include:
- Mathematics: Analysis & Interpretation – Average grade Standard Level: 5.12 | Higher Level: 5.5
- English Language & Literature – average grade 5.47, with Average Point Score jumping from 23.73 to 41.68
- Psychology – average 5.25, Average Point Score rising from 28.00 to 39.00
- History – Higher Level: 4.9 | Standard Level: 5.0, Average Point Score climbing from 19.78 to 35.09
- Spanish – Average grade 5.67
- Film Studies – Average grade 5
- Global Politics – Average grade 5.0
- Chemistry – Average Point Score from 24.00 to 30.00
- Design Technology – Average Point Score from 28.80 to 31.20
Vocational Results
Our largest ever cohort achieved our best vocational outcomes yet, with an average grade of merit+ for all vocational subjects. Notable subject successes came from art, finance (diploma), engineering, health & social care, and law.
T Level Results
In our first year of receiving T Level results, we are thrilled to report a 100% pass rate with an average point score of distinction- with some impressive destinations. Ivan has embarked on a degree in Accounting at the University of Northampton, while Konye is pursuing studies in Music Business at Birmingham University. Temitope has chosen the University of Portsmouth to study Accounting and Finance, combining numerical skills with financial expertise. Karolina has secured a degree apprenticeship with the company where she previously completed her work placement, based at Clarence Place, specialising in Wealth Management.
Among T-Level Health graduates, three students — Tani, Piper and Sienna — have begun their professional journeys at Darent Valley Hospital, applying their skills in a healthcare setting. Meanwhile, Deborah has progressed to Canterbury Christ Church University to study child nursing, preparing for a career dedicated to supporting children’s health and wellbeing.
E Sports
The E Sports results were equally impressive with 100% merit+, 66% distinctions + with 33% distinction *. Although these results do not count in the performance tables, it shows that this qualification is valued by our students and endorsed by the British College of E Sports.
Outstanding Achievements from Key Groups:
- Disadvantaged Students – average vocational grade: Distinction (APS 35), a significant improvement from previous years. The average academic grade for disadvantaged students C-
- SEN Students – Average grade B-, up from a C- in 2023/24.
- EAL Students – an academic grade of B-, value added +0.29 with vocational average grade a distinction – and a value added score of +0.46.
- Home-Grown Students – Students that have been at Leigh Academy Wilmington since year 7 achieved an academic Average Point Score of 33.69 (C +) with a Value Added score of +0.18 and a merit + for vocational.

University Destinations
Our graduates are progressing to an impressive range of universities, including Bath, Durham, Warwick, Lancaster, and Loughborough. They will study an inspiring mix of subjects – from Aerospace Engineering and Modern Languages to Marine Biology, Esports Coaching, and Investment Banking. Several students secured unconditional offers, while many achieved their desired conditional firm places, reflecting both their potential and proven success.
